EliteShield™ semi-custom marine cover

The EliteShield™ Difference

Why Your Boat Deserves More Than a Tarp

A loose universal cover on a boat is worse than no cover at all. It pools rainwater at the bow, traps condensation under the hull, and flaps against the gelcoat in wind — creating fine scratches from the inside out.

EliteShield™'s semi-custom marine covers are sized to real watercraft dimensions. Elasticated hems grip the hull at the waterline. Heavy-duty trailering straps secure the cover during transport. The breathable fabric lets moisture escape while keeping rain, UV, and debris out.

The biggest threat to a fiberglass finish isn't rain — it's prolonged UV exposure degrading the gel coat. EliteShield™'s UV-treated fabrics block the spectrum that causes chalking, fading, and oxidation.

  • Sized to your watercraft's actual dimensions — not "one size fits most"
  • Elasticated hem grips the hull — no pooling, no wind displacement
  • Breathable construction prevents mold, mildew & condensation
  • UV-treated fabrics protect gel coat and vinyl upholstery
  • Heavy-duty trailering straps included — trailer-safe at highway speed

EliteShield™ Heavy-Duty Boat Cover

100% Waterproof with Breathable Construction

Heavy-Duty Boat Covers That Survive Full Seasons Outside

Your boat represents thousands of dollars of investment. Left uncovered, a single season of UV exposure can chalk the gelcoat, fade the upholstery, and crack the vinyl trim — damage that's expensive to repair and impossible to fully reverse.

EliteShield boat covers are available in two marine-grade fabric weights — the TitanShield™ 900D (the heaviest marine-grade polyester in the lineup) and the Elite ProShield™ 600D (a lighter-weight 100% waterproof option at a lower price point). Both are 100% waterproof with breathable construction, trailerable with included straps, and available across all major boat makes and model years.

  • TitanShield™ 900D — tightly woven, 100% waterproof, maximum durability
  • Elite ProShield™ 600D — waterproof taped seams, mildew resistant
  • Covers all hull types: bass boats, ski boats, center consoles, runabouts
  • Available for any make, any model, any year (1975–present)
  • Trailering straps included — safe at highway speeds
  • 2-year manufacturer warranty on both grades

EliteShield pontoon cover designed for pontoon-specific geometry

Pontoon Covers — Semi-Custom for Wide Decks

Pontoon Covers Engineered for the Width, Not Just the Length

Pontoon boats are uniquely difficult to cover well. Their wide beam, raised deck rails, and flat bimini tops mean standard boat covers sit wrong, leave gaps at the sides, and pool water at the deck instead of shedding it.

EliteShield pontoon covers are designed for pontoon-specific geometry — sized from 19 to 28 feet with appropriate beam widths for the major pontoon brands including Bennington, Sundancer, and Palm Beach models. The fitted hem accounts for the pontoon tube profile at the waterline.

  • Covers from 19 ft to 28 ft in length — no pontoon left out
  • Available in Black, Gray, Navy, and Blue colorways
  • TitanShield™ 900D from $269.99 · ProShield™ 600D from $279.99 (sale)
  • Ultra-strong webbing straps included for secure outdoor storage
  • Breathable fabric prevents condensation buildup on the deck
  • 2-year warranty — any make, any model, any year

Jet Ski, PWC, Canoe & Kayak Covers

Protection for Your Smaller Watercraft — Without Overpaying

Jet skis and PWCs sit exposed year-round in driveways and on trailers, taking on the full spectrum of UV, rain, and bird damage without the protection of a covered slip. EliteShield's Elite ProShield™ jet ski covers are made from UV-treated, solution-dyed 600D marine polyester in six dual-tone color combinations — functional protection that looks as good as the machine it covers.

  • Marine Grade 600D solution-dyed fabric — fade proof
  • 6 color combos: Black/Gray, Green/Gray, Navy/Gray, Blue/Gray, Burgundy/Gray, Yellow/Gray
  • Air vents prevent condensation under the cover
  • Trailerable design with buckle straps
  • 3-year warranty — longest in the marine lineup
  • Regular price $199.98 · Sale from $129.99

Canoe & Kayak covers are available in 900D and 600D waterproof grades — same fabric technology as the boat covers, sized for canoe and kayak hull profiles.

Every Cover. Every Grade. Every Feature.

Shield your vessel from the elements with our high-performance marine covers — engineered for both off-season storage and extreme-duty coastal exposure.

  • Ultimate UV Defense

Both material tiers are treated with high-grade UV inhibitors that prevent hull fading, vinyl cracking, and upholstery degradation caused by direct sunlight — the #1 cause of gelcoat damage.

  • Waterproof & Breathable

Integrated moisture-guard technology sheds heavy rain and spray while allowing trapped water vapor to escape — preventing the growth of mold and mildew in the cockpit and bilge area.

  • Reinforced Secure Fit

Cord hem and integrated buckle-and-strap systems ensure a snug, wind-proof fit that holds during high gusts and stays secure at highway trailering speeds without flapping or shifting.

  • Corrosion Resistant

All hardware fittings and fabric treatments are engineered to withstand saltwater environments — ensuring buckles, grommets, and seams won't weaken, corrode, or fail in coastal conditions.

Choose Your Protection Level

Two Duty Grades. One Decision.

Both fabrics are 100% waterproof, UV-treated, and trailer-able. The difference is in weight, tear resistance, and the conditions they're built for.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

How to Cover Your Watercraft

1

Clean the Exterior

Remove any debris, leaves, or sticks from the deck and hull. Foreign material trapped under the cover can scratch the gelcoat during storage.

2

Line Up Bow to Stern

Sewn-in tags mark the front and rear of the cover. Position the front tag at the bow, then unroll the cover towards the stern of the boat.

3

Secure the Hem & Straps

Pull the elasticated hem down and under the hull sides. Attach the included heavy-duty trailering straps for added security — required for outdoor storage and road transport.

4

Remove Only When Dry

Before removing, ensure the cover is dry. Pull the hem up and over the sides, fold from bow to stern, and store in the included storage bag.

1

Clean the PWC Exterior

Check for debris on the hull and seat. Leaves or grit caught under the cover can scratch the PWC's body panels during storage.

2

Align the Front Tag

A sewn-in tag marks the front of the cover. Place it at the nose of the PWC without securing it yet, then smooth the cover rearward over the seat.

3

Clip the Straps & Smooth

Pull the elastic hem as smooth as possible on both sides, then clip the quick-release buckle straps into place. The cover should be taut with no sagging or pooling areas.

Find Your Cover Size

Get Total Coverage From Bow to Stern

Select your boat length and beam width to ensure your cover reaches from end to end — no exposed hull, no pooling at the bow. Follow these three steps or use our Search by Sizes tool below.

1

Measure Bumper to Bumper

Measure your boat end-to-end — from the tip of the bow to the farthest point of the stern, including any motor bracket extension. This is your covered length.

2

Match to the Size Chart

Find your length in the reference table. If you fall between two sizes, always size up — the elasticated cord hem self-adjusts and will still deliver a snug, wind-proof fit.

3

Order with Confidence

All covers include a 30-day no-questions return. If the fit isn't right, we'll make it right — call (866) 764-6412 and our team will help you find the correct size.

Boat Cover Size Reference

Boat Length Cover Size Best Fit For
Up to 14 ft XS Jon boats, small inflatables
15 – 17 ft S Bass boats, small runabouts
18 – 20 ft M Ski boats, center consoles
21 – 24 ft L Bowriders, deck boats
25 – 28 ft XL Large bowriders, cuddy cabins
29 – 33 ft XXL Express cruisers, large sport boats
💡

Between sizes? Always size up — the cord hem and elasticated perimeter self-adjust within the size range. A cover that's slightly long will still fit snugly; a cover that's too short will leave the bow or stern exposed.

What's the difference between a universal and semi-custom boat cover?

universal boat cover is a single loose-fitting tarp sized to accommodate a wide range of boats. It's inexpensive but prone to wind displacement, pooling water at the bow, and creating friction against the hull that can scratch the gelcoat.

semi-custom cover (EliteShield's approach) is engineered in multiple size variants matched to real watercraft dimensions. The elasticated hem grips the hull below the gunwale, heavy-duty straps secure it for trailering, and the fitted profile sheds water at the correct angles rather than pooling it.

The result is significantly better UV, rain, and wind protection — without the 6–10 week wait and premium cost of a fully custom made-to-measure cover.

Which fabric grade should I choose for my boat?
  • ArgentShield™: Year-round outdoor storage in sun-intensive climates (Florida, Southwest). The reflective finish provides the highest UV protection in the lineup.
  • TitanShield™ 900D: Full outdoor storage in harsh climates with heavy rain, hail, or snow. The 900D construction is the heaviest-weight marine polyester available.
  • Elite ProShield™ 600D: The best all-around option for most boat owners — 100% waterproof with taped seams, mildew resistant, available in multiple colors.
  • H2ProShield™: Jet ski or PWC stored in a garage or under a covered carport, with occasional outdoor exposure.

When in doubt, size up to TitanShield — the 2-year warranty and 900D construction offer the best long-term value if the cover will see full outdoor seasons.

Can I use an EliteShield cover while trailering?

Yes. All EliteShield boat and pontoon covers are trailerable by design. The covers include heavy-duty trailering straps with buckle hardware that secure the cover to the trailer during road transport at highway speeds.

For jet ski and PWC covers, the included quick-release buckle straps secure the cover to the PWC hull during transport on a trailer or truck bed.

Ensure straps are fully tightened and the elasticated hem is snug before traveling at highway speed.

Are EliteShield boat covers 100% waterproof?

The TitanShield™ 900D and Elite ProShield™ 600D are rated 100% waterproof. The ProShield uses waterproof-taped seams to eliminate leakage at the stitching — the most common point of failure in marine covers.

The ArgentShield™ also features a hydrophobic coating that repels rain and snow. The H2ProShield™ is water-resistant (suitable for rain but not extended submersion).

All grades are breathable, which is equally critical — a non-breathable waterproof cover traps condensation inside, which causes the mildew and corrosion it's designed to prevent.

How do I measure my boat for the right cover size?

Measure end to end from the tip of the bow to the farthest point of the stern, including any motor bracket extension. This is your covered length.

For pontoon covers, also note your pontoon tube length — pontoon cover sizing is based on the overall length of the tube assembly, not just the deck.

Match your measurement to the size chart on the product listing. If you fall between two sizes, select the larger size — the elasticated hem self-adjusts within the size range and will still provide a secure, wind-resistant fit.

For help sizing, call (866) 764-6412 — our team can recommend the right size for your specific make and model.

Will the cover damage my boat's gelcoat or fiberglass?

No — provided the boat is clean before covering. EliteShield marine covers use smooth, abrasion-resistant interior fabric that won't scratch gelcoat or fiberglass under normal conditions.

The key rule: never cover a dirty boat. Grit, sand, or debris caught between the cover and the hull surface can cause fine scratching as the cover moves in wind. Rinse the hull before fitting the cover if the boat has been used since the last cover-off.

The cover itself does not degrade the gelcoat — in fact, it's the primary protection against UV-induced gel coat chalking and oxidation, which is far more damaging than abrasion.

What pontoon sizes does EliteShield cover?

EliteShield pontoon covers are available for vessels from 19 feet to 28 feet in length, with size variants stepping in 1–2 foot increments to match the major pontoon brands. Covered brands include Bennington, Sundancer, Palm Beach, and most other major manufacturers.

Covers are available in Black, Gray, Navy, and Blue in both the TitanShield™ 900D and Elite ProShield™ 600D grades, starting from $269.99.

How do I clean my marine cover?

For all marine fabric grades (ArgentShield™, TitanShield™, Elite ProShield™, H2ProShield™):

  • Wash with cool water only
  • Do not use liquid detergents or soap — they strip the UV treatment and waterproof coatings
  • Air dry only — do not tumble dry or iron
  • Allow the cover to dry fully before folding and storing in the storage bag

For stubborn stains (bird droppings, tree sap), use a soft brush with clean water only. Most stains will lift without any cleaning agent.

What accessories are included with a marine cover?
  • Boat covers (TitanShield™ & ProShield™): Heavy-duty trailering straps, storage bag
  • Pontoon covers: Ultra-strong webbing straps, storage bag
  • Jet ski / PWC covers: Quick-release buckle straps, storage bag
  • All grades: Storage bag included for compact folded storage

Additional accessories — cable locks, tie-down kits, extra straps — are available separately in the Marine Accessories category.

What warranty do EliteShield marine covers carry?
  • Elite ProShield™ jet ski covers: 3-year limited manufacturer warranty (longest in the marine range)
  • TitanShield™ 900D (boat & pontoon): 2-year limited warranty
  • Elite ProShield™ 600D (boat & pontoon): 2-year limited warranty
  • ArgentShield™ and H2ProShield™: Manufacturer warranty — see product listing for full terms

All warranties cover manufacturing defects and material failures under normal use. To make a warranty claim, contact orders@eliteshield.com with your order number and a photo showing the defect.

Boat Care Guide

Tips to Protect Your Boat

It's not every day that you buy a boat. So when you make such a significant investment, it's only logical to keep your boat shipshape for years — so you can enjoy a little proximity to nature whenever you're at sea.

Taking your boat out and enjoying the sunshine is one of the greatest pleasures of ownership. But the sun's ultraviolet rays cause considerable damage to your boat's vinyl furniture, flooring, and other essential parts, while algae and debris in the marine environment corrode exposed metal over time.

Saltwater exposure is another risk. Salt increases wear and tear across every surface and causes rusting that can lead to serious motor problems. Cleaning your boat regularly is one of the most effective ways to maintain it and avoid wear — and a well-kept boat looks better, lasts longer, and commands a better resale price when you upgrade.

Below are six easy, owner-managed tips to protect your boat from salt, UV rays, and other hazards. For more extensive maintenance, it's wise to bring in professionals periodically.

TIP 01

Wash Regularly

Saltwater crystals scratch and corrode if left on the hull. After every outing, rinse and flush from bow to stern and wipe down stainless and varnished teak. Inspect rod holders, cleats, and anchors for corrosion, and pay special attention to deck hardware, pulleys, cockpit, and mast where salt builds up.

TIP 02

Polish & Lubricate

Maintain the gel coat with regular polishing to inhibit algae, barnacles, and other organisms that erode the hull. Lubricate moving metal parts to cool components, clear debris, and cut friction for smoother, longer-lasting operation.

TIP 03

Care for the Outboard Motor

Saltwater accelerates corrosion, so tilt the outboard up before leaving the boat at rest — protecting it from corrosive water and barnacles. Change the oil regularly to avoid engine seizure and dangerous breakdowns on the water.

TIP 04

Wax at Least Annually

A compound wax made for boats reduces UV damage to the exterior and shields against debris and hull contaminants. Wax at least once a year — more often if your boat sees intense, prolonged sun.

TIP 05

Maintain Zincs (Anodes)

Small galvanic anodes ("zincs") protect the vital metal parts of your boat from corrosion. Inspect them at least once a year — if they've lost half their mass, replace them immediately to keep protection effective.

TIP 06

Use a High-Quality Cover

A quality cover protects your boat indoors, outdoors, and on the trailer. It guards against theft, vandalism, and animals, and preserves the interior by preventing sun-fade and heat-cracking of the components.

Trust EliteShield™ to Protect Your Boat
